California home insurance - will premiums go up?

Californian homeowners pay high home insurance premiums to insure their property.

Insurance companies now estimate the damages from the recent wildfires could amount to $1.6 billion,
and homeowners in California fear their already expensive home insurance might increase even more.

But according to the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights insurance premiums should not
go up because insurance companies have made an estimated $6 billion between 2004 and 2006.

However, the immediate concern for thousands of Californians right now is if their homeowners insurance coverage will be enough to fully repair or replace their homes.
